I went to check this morning for accounting materials but found myself feeling nauseous when I started looking at anything related to the subject matter…so I guess my brain hasn’t fully recuperated. (=.=)”
And yet even so, last week’s adventure already seems like a dream.
Here’s the last bit of our journey:

To my delight, in travelling across the Quebec countryside, we passed many mountains. And since no experience involving mountains is complete without a hike, we stopped at Mt Orford for a picnic before heading off on one.
We were so confident in our trail blazing that we even navigated part of the way by following our ears – and found a batch of music students who were deriving inspiration from being in the midst of nature.
Daredevils that we were, we also rented a canoe to explore the lake on the mountain.
We stayed at a cute bed and breakfast for the night, and made good use of some of the bubble bath they had lying around to soak our weary feet while discussing Ezra.

Boy do those Francophones know their way around breakfast! Homemade pastries and jam, cute teapots, and just YUM.
And this was just way too cute:
If you can’t figure out the above picture, it’s butter. Shaped in the forms of peanuts. (Peanut butter, anyone?)
In keeping with the objective of the trip – restful fellowship between girls – we went to visit the largest lavendar field in Canada.
And do all the things one would do in a lavendar field…
…Before rushing to hit our last stop: a copper mine that was closed in the 1960s. We descended about 50 meters underground and were graced with visitor safety equipment such as lanterns, stairs, and a tour guide (which the original miners did not have)
My favourite part of the cave – the wall of abstract art:
The different colours are derived from the different minerals that are present: Red for Iron, Green for Copper, Black for Manganese, White for Calcite – all emphasized by mud.
I came out from this trip more than satisfied: having witnessed beauty, experienced rest, eaten yummy food, and having enjoyed good company.
It was just what I needed to transition back, even though it was nothing as I had expected.
For the record: I rather it this way.
